How to Get from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to Other Destinations
OSL is the major air hub serving the city of Oslo. Handling around 30 million passengers a year, it’s the busiest airport in Norway and the second busiest airport in the whole Scandinavia. The distance between this air hub and the capital’s center is 35 km. To reach the downtown (or other nearby places), passengers use public transport, taxi cabs, or individual transfers.
Taxi from Oslo Gardermoen Airport
If you want to take a taxi from its terminals, go to a special desk inside the arrivals area. There, you’ll be consulted about the fixed prices various companies offer. You may also book a car by phone (for instance, by calling one of those official taxi companies serving the airport). The rank can be found at the exit from the arrivals zone. Be ready for some extra charges (for instance, for traveling at evening or night hours). On average, a taxi trip from Gardermoen Airport to the downtown costs around €100.
Transfer from Oslo Gardermoen Airport
A private transfer might be an ideal option if you want to plan your trip budget beforehand and want to save some time when at the air hub. Booking it, you will know the final cost of your ride in advance and won’t have to pay anything else later. The baggage is also already included in the transfer price. When you arrive at Gardermoen air hub, you won’t need to wait even a minute, as your driver will already be there. The cost of a Comfort-class taxi transfer to Oslo is €138. Public Transportation from Oslo Gardermoen Airport
There are lots of bus carriers providing trips between Gardermoen Airport and Oslo city center (both standard and express bus services). A one-way fare is 150 to 180 NOK (around €16-19). In case there are no traffic jams on the roads, the average travel time is 45 minutes. Tickets can be bought from the driver.
Also, there are two types of trains which may take you to the center. These are express (180 NOK or €19) and NSB (93 NOK or €10) services. Their journey time is around 20 minutes. All trains arrive at Oslo Central Station.
Note that trains and buses don’t run at night. To reach Oslo at this time, you may use only taxis or pre-ordered transfers.
