How to Get to Cortina d’Ampezzo
Cortina d’Ampezzo is a small but prestigious ski resort located in northern Italy, the province of Belluno. It’s included in ‘the Best of the Alps’ list and is often called ‘the Queen of the Dolomites’. As it’s surrounded by mountains, there’s no airport or train station in it. Travelers reach the resort via other larger locations using public transport, taxi cabs, or private transfers.
Taxi to Cortina d’Ampezzo
When ordering a taxi to the town from airports, it’s better to do that via desks in terminals. Also, one may order a car through many online cab services. If you’re going to take a taxi from airport ranks, note that not all drivers will be ready for such a trip. The reason is the winding road to the mountains. A driver will also have to drive through some tunnels, and this will require some experience. The average price for a taxi to the resort from Treviso air hub is €270 and from Venice Marco Polo one - €280.
Transfer to Cortina d’Ampezzo

Public Transport to Cortina d’Ampezzo
To get to Cortina d’Ampezzo from Marco Polo air terminal, you may use the Cortina Express bus. This ride will cost €25 for an adult ticket and €13 for a ticket for children under 11. Please always check the timetable in advance as it depends on the season.
Also, you may use the ATVO bus to reach the resort from Venice. It goes from Piazzale Roma to Marco Polo air hub where passengers change to the direct service to the town. There are 3 trips a day. Trips at 9:50 and 14:50 cost €18, and a trip at 07:50 - €12.90.
The nearest railway station to the resort is in Calalzo di Cadore (35 km). You may take a train to that station and then change to a bus service to Cortina d’Ampezzo from there.
Late in the evening and at night hours, the only travel option you may use is private transfers and taxis.
Useful Information
The ski area in the town offers 140 km of tracks. Here, one may also enjoy skating, riding snowmobiles, and snowshoeing.
