Why do people book transfers from Naples airport (NAP)

Transfer is a transportation service which meets and brings you exactly where you asked: a Kiwitaxi driver meets you at the airport (as close to the Arrivals as possible), at the hotel reception or at the exactly given address, helps you with your luggage and brings you fast- track to your destination.

You can pre-order inexpensive taxi transfer to the city center or to the airport, comfortable car transfer for the family with children, Economy minivan for a tourist group or a Luxury transfer. The transfer cost from Naples airport (NAP) is fixed at the time of pre-order and never rises : either when the driver is waiting for the passenger, when the stop is necessary, or because of traffic jams.

The pick-up at Naples airport was as per arrangements, the driver was very courteous and professional, would most certainly recommend this service.

I using kiwi taxi comfortablely. And our taxi driver was very kind. He spoke to our B&B hostel's host by Italian language on behalf of me. Because the hostel's host can't speak English. I was very thankful to our kiwi taxi driver. thank you.

The booking process was easy and the status update was clear. My driver arrived for pick-up ahead of time, greeted me politely and helped with loading my luggage swiftly. The ride to the airport was smooth and comfortable, gave me peace of mind. I highly recommended Kiwitaxi.
It was more than perfect! We found the driver very quickly and he was absolutely friendly. His English was very good, so the communication worked very well. Then he also helped us with the luggage, gave us tips and infos for sightseeing and helped us to find our ferry at the port. It was awesome!
the service was fantastic. Our driver was professional, early, and extremely helpful. The vehicle was clean and in great shape. I would recommend kiwitaxi to anyone traveling. Looking forward to our next trip to Charles De Gaul next week.
Our driver texted us not only where to meet him but also a picture of himself so we could easily identify him when we exited the airport. He was helpful with our bags, courteous and drove well. Vehicle was clean and comfortable. Definitely nicer than taking a regular taxi.

Transfers vs. Other Ways to Get from Naples Airport

Naples International Airport, also known as Capodichino Airport, is the largest air hub in the southern Italy which serves more than 5 million passengers annually. It consists of two terminals: most flights are operated from Terminal 1, while the Terminal 2 is most often used for charter flights. It will take you an hour and a half to get from Naples to Sorrento, Amalfi coast, Maiori, and Positano.

How to get from Naples Airport to Naples city center or the other way round

The airport is located about 6 km northeast of the city center. Here are three options how to get to Naples:

  • by Alibus shuttles operated by ANM. They run via Garibaldi square (not far from the central railway station) to Municipio square (next to the port). The first bus departs at 06:30, and the last one — at 23:39 on weekdays and at 23:50 on weekends. The interval is 20–30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at kiosks, at the stop, or from the driver;
  • by taxi which can be taken at a rank at Naples Airport or ordered via the app;
  • by transfer booked online in advance.

If you realize you can miss the last bus, book a transfer beforehand or take a taxi.

Transfer vs. Taxi from Naples Airport taken on the spot or ordered via the app

Advantages of a private transfer

Available in 5 languages. Uber is prohibited in Italy. You can call a cab in Naples using the itTaxi app, but it may not be available in your language. The same problem may be faced when ordering a car by phone or at a stand at the airport: you will most probably have to speak Italian. The Kiwitaxi service website is available in 5 languages, and our support team is at your disposal 24/7.

A cheaper trip to Naples at night and on weekends. A taxi from Naples Airport to Naples city center will cost around 45 euros, while a transfer — 40 euros.

A cheaper journey to Sorrento, Amalfi, and Positano. A transfer from the airport to Sorrento costs 96 euros, to Amalfi — 99 euros, and to Positano — 105 euros. Official taxi tariffs on the same routes are 100, 130, and 120 euros respectively. However, the transfer driver will not only take you to your hotel but also meet you with a name sign, help you with your baggage, and tell you a bit about the city.

Disadvantages of a private transfer

More expensive to Naples on weekdays and at daytime, as a taxi trip from the air hub to the city at this time will cost around 20 euros. Transfer rates are fixed and don’t depend on the time of day and day of the week (thus, a transfer from the airport to Naples will cost you 40 euros).

Transfer from Naples Airport vs. Bus

Advantages of a private transfer

At least two times faster. Buses must run at the interval of 20–30 minutes, but they are often late because of traffic jams and strikes. There is no need to wait for a transfer, so in just 20 minutes, you’ll be at your hotel.

You’ll be able to travel at night. Buses stop running from the airport to the city (and vice versa) after midnight. The Kiwitaxi driver will come for you at any time of day.

Much more comfortable. What do you think about traveling in a crowded bus with suitcases in your hands? Don’t like it? A transfer has much space, an air-conditioner, and a separate place for baggage. Besides, if you’re traveling with a child, you can order a child seat.

Disadvantages of a private transfer

More expensive even if you’re traveling in a group. One bus ticket costs just 4 euros. A transfer for 4 people will be 6 euros more expensive for each passenger.
