The nearest local railway station from the domestic terminal (level 3 Terminal 2) is Vile Parle which is 4.6 km away. And from the international terminal, Andheri East is the nearest local railway station which is 3.6 km away. 

From the domestic terminals, you can get on bus No. 312 for Andheri East and Vile Parle East. And from the international terminals, you can get a bus line No. 308 for Andheri East and bus line No. 321 for Vile Parle East.

But remember that these buses are burning hot and overcrowded, so it is almost impossible that you will be comfortably seated on them. It will be very difficult for you to ride them with a small baby, a disabled person, or an elderly parent. You will not get a helping hand with your language.
