Transfers from Cologne Airport to Cologne

This 2,000-year-old city is located on the Rhine River in Germany. It is a reconstructed culture hub. It is famous for its 12 great churches especially the Cathedral. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe and the 4th largest city in Germany. It hosts a famous market named the German Christmas Market. Besides, the city belongs to a greater metropolitan area.

If you need to get to the center from the air hub, travel with Kiwitaxi. You can choose your route with a professional driver. You can have the car of any capacity. If you are traveling with your relatives and friends, you can book a minibus. 

The distance between the air hub and downtown is 15km. Our driver will cover it in 20 minutes for a minimum of 87 euros.

Taxi from Cologne Airport to Cologne

To have a local cab from the air hub could be risky. First, you will have to wait for the car in line with your heavy luggage. The local driver may have a language issue. You need to exchange money to pay in euro. 

In contrast, the transfer provides you the opportunity to pay in any currency or even online by card. A professional driver will be courteous to you and attentive to your needs. There are many local cab services available 24/7 outside of the air hub. The average fare is around €70. It takes around 15 minutes to travel from the air hub to downtown.

Public Transport 

The city provides the best public transport: it is well managed and you can move around the city by tram, subway, and train. The quickest way to travel to downtown is by bus and train. You can see the timetable of local trains before going to your destination. But public transport is not as comfortable as Kiwitaxi. It does not provide you extra capacity for your luggage and extra seats for your kids. 

If you choose to travel by train within the city, you will need to buy a ticket for €2.80. You can use this ticket to travel around the city for 90 minutes. In this way, you won’t need to buy another ticket. With this ticket you can’t go backward but only forward.  

With RE6 and RE8 trains, you can get around the city at a cheaper price. You can access them at the station near the air hub.
