Transfers vs. Other Ways to Get from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is the main airport of Côte d'Azur. It is a starting point for trips to Nice, Monaco, Cannes, Sanremo, Saint-Tropez, Antibes, and other luxurious resorts of the Mediterranean coast of France. So that your trip goes well, plan all the details in advance.
How to get from Nice Airport to Nice city center or the other way round
The city is just 7 km from the airport. This is how you can get to the city:
- by express buses N98 and 99. Bus N98 goes from the airport to the Eastern train station (Gare de Nice Riquier), and N 99 goes directly to the Central train station (Gare Nice Ville). Buses set off from Terminal 1 (platform 1) and Terminal 2 (platform 5), and ticket offices are at the exit from the arrivals area. Do not forget to validate your ticket;
- by city buses N52, 59, and 70. They run via the Aeroport/Promenade stop near the Terminal 1 and also go to the center of Nice (stops Station J.C. Bermond or Trésorerie);
- by train, which cannot be taken at the airport, but at Nice-Saint-Augustin station (Avenue Edouard Grinda street) which is 1,2 km away from the air terminal, and which you first need to find. The ticket office at the train station is open from 08:00 to 19:30, and trains run from 06:00 to 22:00;
- by taxi service from Nice Airport, which can be ordered via the app or taken on the spot;
- by transfer booked in advance.
Public transport stops operating close to midnight, and there is only one bus route left, N4 (Noctambus Ouest), which runs to Promenade des Arts stop approximately from 21:00 to 01:30 am. The rest of the time only a taxi or transfer is available.
Transfer vs. Taxi from Nice Airport to Nice city center (ordered via the app)
Advantages of a private transfer
You will not face transport problems upon arrival. In order to call a taxi via the app, you need at least to get a Wi-Fi connection, enter your hotel address and choose a car. By booking a transfer from Nice Airport in advance you leave all the concerns behind you and just enjoy your holiday.
Always on time. A transfer driver knows your flight number and tracks the landing status online — that’s why he/she will definitely arrive on time. Taxi from the app can easily promise you to send a car within 10 minutes, but can then postpone it, as easily.
Disadvantage of a private transfer
A bit more expensive. Uber and local taxi apps in Nice have similar prices, from 22 to 34 euro for a trip from the airport to the city center. The cheapest taxi transfer from Nice Airport costs 35 euro.
Transfer from Nice Airport to Nice vs. Taxi taken on the spot
Advantages of a private transfer
Price is the same despite the traffic. The traffic in Nice can strike you at any time and in any place. Especially, if someone from the locals suddenly decided to transport his/her motorboat. In case of a taxi, idle time will affect the trip price, whereas the transfer price is always fixed.
English-speaking support. French taxi drivers love their language and refuse to understand any other. This results in extra expenses and stress: in order to increase the costs, a driver may take you to a wrong place, pretending that you have told him the address incorrectly. In Kiwitaxi, most of the drivers speak English, and you can always ask our English-speaking support any questions.
Transfer from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport vs. Train
Advantages of a private transfer
No need to walk with your baggage. Station the train departs from is approximately 1,2 km away from Terminal 1 of Nice Airport. It means a 15-minute walk with your luggage in hands. Transfer, on the opposite, will be waiting for you at the exit from the airport, and our driver will help you with your bags.
No need to urgently exchange money. Train tickets are sold in ticket machines at the stations. Ticket machines do not accept banknotes, so you will have to stock up on coins. If you book our service, there will be no need to run around trying to exchange money.
Disadvantage of a private transfer
Much more expensive. A train ticket to Nice train station costs 2,5 euro, and a transfer for a group of four will cost you minimum 35 euro.
Transfer from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport vs. Bus
Advantages of a private transfer
You will not miss your stop. Buses in Nice stop on passenger's request and can easily pass your stop if you didn’t press a special red button on a handrail in advance.
No changes. You need to plan in advance how to get from the city center to your hotel by bus. In most cases, you will have to make several changes when traveling by public transport. Transfer driver will meet you right at the airport and take you directly to your hotel.
Minimum twice as fast. Waiting time in case of a bus will take approximately 20–30 minutes, which is longer than the transfer trip to the city.
Disadvantage of a private transfer
More expensive. An express bus ticket costs 6 euro, and a city bus one — 1,5 euro. Transfer price starts from 35 euro.
