Transfers vs. Other Ways to Get from Larnaca Airport
Larnaca Airport receives up to 7 million tourists annually. By world standards it is not very big, however, on the territory of its terminal there are all necessary services and offices for the passengers. Those, who plan to travel from the airport to Larnaca or to one of Cyprus resorts: Protaras, Limassol, Nicosia, Ayia Napa — should study the public and private transport on the island in advance.
How to get from Larnaca Airport to the city center and the other way round
There is no railway service on Cyprus, so there are only two variants to get from the airport to the city or to the neighbouring regions: by bus or by car. One can get from Larnaca Airport by:
- city buses of blue or green colour. The most popular route is 425, which goes as well to Larnaca bus station;
- direct shuttle buses to the neighbouring resorts (e.g., to Limassol). However, there are no direct routes to many towns on Cyprus;
- local taxis, booked on site or via an app;
- transfer booked in advance.
Transfer from Larnaca Airport vs. Taxi booked via an app
Advantages of a private transfer
No need to download unknown apps. On Cyprus there are no international online taxi services, such as Uber. There are only some little-known apps such as Mtaxi or Igogo. If you want to call a taxi, you will have to study these apps up.
It is cheaper. Inter-city taxi trips booked via an app have a fixed tariff. For example, you can get to Limassol for €55 (at night for €65). But with our service the trip will cost you €53 at any time of a day.
Do these apps work at all? Taxi booked via mobile apps on Cyprus did not get widespread, so there are not many cars available, and their sites stop working from time to time. For example, here is the news from Igogo as of May 2016. Are they still working?
Transfer vs. Taxi from Larnaca Airport, booked on site
Advantages of a private transfer
You will not get lost. If you told a taxi driver only a name of your hotel, he can get lost without a map or an exact address. All transfer drives receive your destination address before your arrival in Cyprus and study the route.
Price is fixed. Taxis from Larnaca Airport work by counter, so the payment comprises the starting fee, mileage, luggage weight, surcharge for night trip etc. By the way, taxi drivers have no weigh-scales, so they determine your luggage weight by sight. Transfer, however, always has a fixed price.
Transfer vs. Buses from Larnaca Airport
Advantages of a private transfer
Get where you need even at night. Buses come only till 23:30. Transfers — when you need them to come.
Without transport changes. To get to Ayia Napa, Nicosia or Protaras by bus is only possible from the station in the city. Transfer goes directly from the airport.
Up to 4 times faster! Given the changes and a waiting time, you can get to Ayia Napa by bus in 3 hours… Or in 45 minutes, if you choose our service.
Disadvantage of a private transfer
5 times as expensive, when calculated for 1 passenger. Direct bus ticket from Larnaca Airport to Limassol costs €9, whereas a our service costs €53. If you travel with a family of more than 4 people, the difference, however, will only make €17.
