are faster and more comfortable than shuttles, buses, trains and taxis to the city center, hotel, resort, airport, train station or to any other place you need to get to.

Why do tourists book private transfers from Split airport (SPU)?

Why do people book transfers from Split airport (SPU)

Transfer is a transportation service which meets and brings you exactly where you asked: a Kiwitaxi driver meets you at the airport (as close to the Arrivals as possible), at the hotel reception or at the exactly given address, helps you with your luggage and brings you fast- track to your destination.

You can pre-order inexpensive taxi transfer to the city center or to the airport, comfortable car transfer for the family with children, Economy minivan for a tourist group or a Luxury transfer. The transfer cost from Split airport (SPU) is fixed at the time of pre-order and never rises : either when the driver is waiting for the passenger, when the stop is necessary, or because of traffic jams.

Everything was great!!! We were lucky with the driver that met us on time at the airport, helped with luggage and drove fast to the hotel. During the road we learned a lot of useful thing about the city life. Highly recommended service!
I liked that the cabdriver offered Wi-Fi to me. It is very useful to get in touch with your family after arriving to Moscow if you haven’t got a Russian SIM card.
Hello, the service was excellent. The driver very kind and helpful. The possibility to pay in cash was very good as I do not have a credit card. I would definitively recommend Kiwitaxi to all of my friends and would choose it in any country where it operates. Thanks again

Transfer vs. Other Ways to Get from Split Airport

International Airport of Split is the second busiest air hub of Croatia as it receives around 1.5 million people a year and is located in the city of the same name - Split. Nearby are such resort destinations as Brela, Šibenik, Makarska, Baška Voda, Resnik, and Podstrana. This article is designed to help you choose transport for your route in advance so that your trip goes smoothly.

How to get from Split Airport to Split city center or the other way round

The air hub of Split is 25km away from the city downtown. There are some ways to get there:

  • a shuttle bus to the central bus station departs every 20 minutes after landing of every arriving flight. Shuttles run from the city to the airport once an hour from 05:00 to 20:00. Tickets can be bought at a ticket office or from a driver;
  • a city bus № 37 from Trogir to Split runs from 04:00 to 00:15, with an interval of 20–30 minutes. The stop is located right behind the airport building, and tickets can be bought from a driver;
  • taxi, which can be taken on the spot or ordered via the smartphone app;
  • transfer, booked online in advance.

One can also travel to the cities of Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Makarska, and Rijeka from the central bus station in Split.

Transfer vs. Taxi from Split Airport (taken on the spot or ordered via the app)

Advantages of a private transfer

A better service at Uber price. A minimum trip cost with UberX makes 225 Croatian kuna (approximately 30,5 euro). A private Kiwitaxi transfer costs 32 euro, but our driver will not only take you to your destination, but also meet you with a name sign, walk you to the car, help with luggage, and tell you a bit about the city.

Two-nine euro cheaper than a local taxi. A trip from the airport to Split with a local taxi driver will cost approximately 250–300 Croatian kuna (around 34–41 euro).

You know the price in advance and it does not change. Apart from the fact that the local taxi from Split Airport to Split is expensive, you will learn the exact price of your trip only upon arrival. Even if a taxi driver tells you an approximate sum, it can always be changed due to the traffic jams on the road.

Easier and more convenient to order a car instead of searching or calling a taxi with your suitcases. You book a car from home beforehand, and our driver arrives at the appointed time.

Transfer from Split Airport vs. Bus and Shuttle Bus

Advantages of a private transfer

Do not depend on transport timetables. If you are late for your shuttle bus, you will have to wait until the next flight arrives. You, of course, can travel by city bus, but only before the midnight. A Kiwitaxi transfer from Split Airport to Split can be booked for any convenient time.

Leave the airport even at night. Shuttles to to the city run from the airport only till 20:00, and city buses — till 00:15.

Reach your hotel, while others are still at the airport. For those 30 minutes, other tourists are waiting for a bus or a shuttle, you will manage to get to your hotel by transfer.

A spacious trunk. In shuttle, as a rule, there is a special compartment for baggage. But you will have a hard time trying to put your suitcase inside: there will be other 30 tourists who have belongings.

Disadvantage of a private transfer

More expensive even for a group. A single shuttle bus ticket costs 30 Croatian kuna (approximately 4 euro), and a bus ticket— 16 kuna (around 2,2 euro). A private Kiwitaxi minibus for 7 people will cost 44 euro, whereas a shuttle bus for the same number of passengers will cost only 28 euro (a bus trip — 15,4 euro).
