are faster and more comfortable than shuttles, buses, trains and taxis from Burgas Airport to the city center, hotel, resort, airport, train station or to any other place you need to get to.

Why do tourists book private transfers from Burgas Airport?

Why do people book transfers at Burgas Airport (BOJ)

Transfer is a transportation service which meets and brings you exactly where you asked: a Kiwitaxi driver meets you at the airport (as close to the Arrivals as possible), at the hotel reception or at the exactly given address, helps you with your luggage and brings you fast- track to your destination.

You can pre-order inexpensive taxi transfer to the city center or to the airport, comfortable car transfer for the family with children, Economy minivan for a tourist group or a Luxury transfer. The transfer cost from Burgas Airport is fixed at the time of pre-order and never rises : either when the driver is waiting for the passenger, when the stop is necessary, or because of traffic jams.

Customer feedback

Superorganized in every detail. ....The information before, upgrading the car without extra charge in advance, the fast and nice service at the pick up place and the reasonable price!
Ten out of ten. Both drivers were on time and professional. Would definitely use Kiwi taxis again. Communication was also good Keeping us informed of driver contact details
The driver was waiting for us at the exit, even with the plane arriving late. He was very polite, drove well, we could understand each other perfectly in english (even that it was not our first language). Everything went well and I definetly recommend the service.

Transfers vs. Other Ways to Get from Burgas Airport

Burgas Airport, also known as Sarafovo, is the second largest international airport in Bulgaria. The whole passenger traffic (more than 2 million people annually) is served by the terminal №2. Tourists arrive in Burgas in order to visit the famous resorts of Bulgaria Black Sea coast: Sunny Beach, Nesebar, Sozopol, Tsarevo, Varna, Ravda, Sveti Vlas and etc.

How to get from Burgas Airport to the city center or the other way round

The air hub is located 10 km in the northeast of Burgas. Transport going to the city is as follows:

  • bus №15. It stops at the entrance to the airport and runs from 05:00 to 23:00 on weekdays (from 5:30 to 22:30 on weekends). The interval between buses is 25 minutes. The bus runs on the route Airport — Central train station — Yug bus station in Burgas. Tickets can be bought from a driver;
  • taxi from Burgas Airport, which can be taken on the spot or booked via the app;
  • transfer, booked online in advance.

Keep in mind that at night, it is possible to leave the airport only by transfer or taxi. In the daytime, buses set off to the nearest resorts from Burgas bus station.

Transfer vs. Taxi from Burgas Airport (on the spot or via the app)

Advantages of a private transfer

Travel straight to your hotel instead of struggling with the slow Internet. There is a free Wi-Fi at the airport, but its speed leaves much to be desired— only 15 Kbs. If you are lucky, the app will be just long loading, and, at worst, you will not be able to book a car at all.

Book in English and not only with Android. The apps, you can use to call a taxi in Sofia, are not suitable for Burgas. The mobile aggregator working in both places is Taxi Bulgaria. However, it is in Bulgarian and available for downloading only in Google Play.

Pay in dollars or euro at the official rate. You should not expect that the local taxi driver will honestly turn the meter on, and be ready to pay the trip in Bulgarian lev. If you do not have Bulgarian money with you, be aware: the euro or dollar exchange rate depends directly on the taxi driver’s desire to earn more.

Twenty euro cheaper, when travelling to Sunny Beach. It is possible to travel by taxi from Burgas Airport to Sunny Beach for 100–150 lev (50–75 euro). Transfer of a Micro class, booked in advance, costs only 32 euro.

Disadvantage of a private transfer

Ten euro more expensive. A trip from the airport to Burgas according to the meter should cost from 20 lev (~10,3 euro at the official rate). The price of transfers from Burgas Airport is fixed — 21 euro.

Transfer from Burgas Airport vs. Bus

Advantages of a private transfer

No need to stand in a long queue. The airport feedback is not great: little space, long lines, not very friendly staff. You might face the same thing on the bus, too. On the contrary, the polite transfer driver will help you with luggage and drive you to the hotel, bypassing the tourist crowds and with shorter travel time.

You can travel to your hotel even at night. Buses run from the airport to the city only till 23:00 on weekdays and till 22:30 on the weekends.

A comfortable trip with payment in a favourable currency. On buses running from the airport, there is neither special compartment for baggage nor an air-conditioner, and tickets can only be bought in Bulgarian lev.

Disadvantage of a private transfer

More expensive, when travelling in a group of four. One ticket to the city center costs around 2,5 euro (the exact fare should be specified with the driver).
