How to Get to Saalbach-Hinterglemm
Located 4 km from each other (at an altitude of 1,003 and 1,050 m respectively), the villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm form one of the best ski areas in Austria. If you’re planning a trip to this magnificent place, you might be interested in travel options which may get you there. So, one may use taxis, transfers, and public transport to reach the resort from larger nearby locations.
Taxi to Saalbach-Hinterglemm
Lots of travelers take taxis to reach Saalbach-Hinterglemm as they are a fast and comfortable way of traveling. At airports, cabs are usually taken from the ranks near the terminals or ordered via the desks inside them. Also, some tourists book taxis via online services. On average, travel to the resort from Salzburg Airport (100 km) in a sedan car costs €130, and from Munich one (180 km) - €270. It may be hard to find a minibus taxi on the spot, so if you need a larger vehicle, reserve it beforehand.
Transfer to Saalbach-Hinterglemm
Using a private taxi transfer is the most convenient option to reach your destination. If you choose it, you won’t need to spend your time searching and waiting for a car on the spot. Public Transport to Saalbach-Hinterglemm
Getting to Saalbach-Hinterglemm from Salzburg Airport by public transport, you’ll have to make one change. Thus, take a train to Zell am See (€13.6 to €17.2), and then change to a bus (€4.7) to the resort.
To get to the ski resort from Munich air hub, you may also take a train to Zell am See (€55-60), and then change to a bus (€4.7) to Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
In the high winter season, one may use a direct shuttle. The fare from Mozart air hub is €44, and from Bavaria capital one is €98.
To reach Saalbach-Hinterglemm late in the evening or at night, you may use only a taxi or a pre-arranged transfer, as the services mentioned above don’t run at this time.
