How to Get from Kitzbuhel to Other Destinations
Kitzbuhel is a small old town located in the east of Tyrol, Austria. It’s considered one of the world’s best ski resorts and is famous for its great skiing infrastructure which allows hosting some major sporting events. To get to or from Kitzbuhel, travelers take transfers, taxis, or public transportation.
Taxi from Kitzbuhel
In Kitzbuhel, you can use taxi services almost at any time. There are lots of companies in the town, and you can reserve a car using your phone or via some firm’s website. Also, you can book a vehicle at one of the town’s ranks (for instance, taxis are waiting in front of the train station main building). Besides, some hotels organize such trips for their guests. The average prices for taxi rides to the nearest airports are the following: to Salzburg one - €140, to Innsbruck one - €170, and to Munich one - €250. If you like, you may tip your taxi driver.
Transfer from Kitzbuhel
Those who want to organize their trip much in advance and know the exact fare beforehand may choose a more convenient option - a private Kiwitaxi transfer. In this case, you won’t need to search for a car on the spot. Your transfer driver will meet you exactly at the time appointed. You won’t have to make any changes along the way which is especially comfortable if you have large bags with you. Public Transport from Kitzbuhel
You can reach other cities from the train station which is 15 minutes walk from Kitzbuhel center. If you are heading to Salzburg, you may take either a direct train or one making a change at Worgl Hbf. The fare depends on the class of the vehicle (the average one is €31.50-43.80).
Rail travel to Innsbruck costs €15.80. In this case, be ready for a change, as direct services are much less frequent.
Getting to any airport will also require one or more changes.
For night rides, consider pre-booking a taxi or a transfer. Public transport services are not available after midnight.
